Manage stress, don’t avoid stress

Stress is an unavoidable fact of life. Your life situation might be unique, but everyone has to deal with the daily stressors that come with a busy modern lifestyle. If you try to avoid stress, it’s like you’re opting out of life, or at least not living life to the full. Managing your stress on a regular basis with strategies that work for you is a way to get the most out of life without crumbling into a heap.

Here are 5 strategies that might help you manage stress and get the most of your busy life.

Manage stress through Movement

Get active and move your body. Even a daily 30min walk can help you reduce stress through both the physical movement of your body and the time out to let go of your negative and stressful thoughts. Add in some social connection and exercise with someone else.

Yoga is an amazing activity that combines movement with meditation to really get some stress management brownie points.

De-stress with Magnesium

Magnesium is great for relaxing your body. Most of us are magnesium deficient due to our diets and lifestyle. Try to eat foods that are rich in magnesium (preferred) or get some high quality magnesium supplements if you are unable to meet your magnesium requirements through food.

Meditation and conscious breathing to let go

It has been shown that meditation can reduce stress and bring a sense of calm and focus into your life. Once you’ve got the hang of it, it doesn’t have to be a long practice to get the benefits. A simple deep breathing activity in the morning for a few minutes will impact your entire days state of mind. Conscious deep breathing throughout the day will enhance this affect.

Prioritise time out to relax

There never seems to be time to relax and take a break from your responsibilities. It’s up to you to prioritise relaxation time into your schedule or it will never be done. If you make this a weekly or monthly habit or commitment, then everyone around you understands this is your time to switch off.  Having time out in a health spa will not only make you feel great, but will help you be more productive, plus you’ll no doubt be a healthier and happier person to be around too!

Get adjusted for a healthy nervous system

Getting a Chiropractic adjustment can free up your nervous system. A balanced and unwound nervous system can make a huge difference to your overall health. Chiropractic care works to balance your spinal cord and nervous system, helping you to eliminate held in stress, leaving you in a greater state of calmness. It also allows the body to function optimally with better energy, giving you more bounce in your step.
