Kieren is one of our Acupuncturists at Wentworth Point. Prior to becoming a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, Kieren was a Biomedical/Electrical engineer. Office work led him down a path which eventually affected his health and sought out Chinese Medicine to address it. The engineering side of Kieren was curious to understand how acupuncture and Chinese Medicine worked to heal, which lead to a change in career. His background allows him translate Chinese medicine into modern science that clients can easily understand.
Through the studies at UTS and clinical placement at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Kieren came to realise that ailments to the human body are multifaceted and many modern lifestyle factors can contribute to a negative effect on our health. Chinese Medicine’s strong point is in preventing ailments or stopping progression early on but can also help address existing conditions. Chinese Medicine addresses multiple aspects affecting one’s health and provides a well-rounded treatment to facilitate the body’s natural healing abilities.
As a modern Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, Kieren sees Chinese Medicine as a traditional science being applied into a modern society and will use all the tools available from both Western and Eastern medicines to help every patient obtain the best possible outcome.
Kieren has developed his skill set to incorporate different modalities with acupuncture. He commonly uses cupping, tuina (Chinese Massage), Gua Sha (scraping technique), electro-acupuncture and herbal medicine to achieve an optimum outcome.
